The Conference focuses on four key sessions:
Speakers and panelists will analyze and evaluate the importance of the digital transformation journey, both on the operations as well as on the business side. As technology advances and provides companies with new opportunities - such as the Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence – shipping companies need to break down the silos, integrate IT (Information Technology) with OT (Operational Technology) and align their business objectives with their IT strategy. The company which will embrace Digital Transformation changes first, will gain huge on competitive advantage.
As (big) data, analytics and Internet of Things technologies have turned mainstream, ship owners can leverage the power of data not only to achieve vessel performance and human output efficiencies, but also to open new business opportunities. Through data analysis, shipping companies can, among others, optimize ship operations, improve on-board processes, set and measure success through specific KPIs. This session will investigate how these ecosystems have developed and how they are changing the way shipping companies operate, now and into the future of maritime digitalisation
Efficiency and safety are at the heart of these initiatives. What role does/should regulation play in the future of open data exchange? How should a market of limited size like maritime incentivize open data exchange and ensure these platforms really do improve the flow of data between different stakeholders in the industry
Security concerns will continue to be a major obstacle to ICT adoption. Security must not be allowed to derail value generation, or be addressed as an afterthought. On top of the Information Security issues, shipping companies need to comply with the new GDPR legal framework which requires a broader Risk Management strategy.
